Unbelievable ... the way the Railway complaints are looked into.

 Incident 1
It happened few months back.  We were traveling and me & family
were waiting in the A/C waiting room at Secunderabad Station. The
attached bathroom was not clean and was giving  bad smell. Added to
this discomfiture, the bathroom door was not closing tight, and I also
observed  that shutter was not closing tight because of faulty door
closer. I complained to the attendant .

I also sent an SMS " The bathroom of A/C  waiting room on
platform No 1 of Secunderbad Station is dirty and stinking. Pl arrange
cleaning . Also the door is not closing  properly". After few minutes
we left the waiting room as our train arrival was announced. Within
few minutes I received text reply from Railways, giving an Id No and
that action will be taken . After few hours I received a message that
the bathroom has been cleaned . After ten days I received another
message that the faulty door has been repaired and thanking me.

     Incident 2
Recently on 24 th October I and my wife were traveling by
Hyderabd Ajmeer Express on our Rajasthan trip. Next day morning, I
noticed there was no water in the bathroom and the taps are all dry,
whereas our journey will continue and we will be reaching our
destination ( Bhilwara near Ajmeer)  after another 18 hours. I was
worried that it is going to be a miserable time to travel without
water. Water or No water, people will continue to use the bathrooms
and the stink will become unbearable. I complained to the Conductor. I
also sent a SMS "Traveling in the A1 compartment of Hyderabad Ajmeer
express train No 12720. No water in the bathrooms . Pl arrange. Also
replace leaking valves else  problem repeats." Pat came the reply"
Your reference id is 1110250019. For status visit
www.scr.indianrailways.in. Or SMS as STATUS<SPACE><id> TO 8121281212 .
Thanks for registering complaint "  .

After about 20 minutes I  received message that water will be
filled at the  nearest Railway station having water filling facility.
At Itarsi station, water was filled and we had no problem . After
about a week I received another message that the faulty valves have
been replaced . It was amazing.

I am thankful to the Railway authorities for introducing a
system where one can complain from a running train even and doubly
grateful that they have acknowledged the complaint and  attended.

I collected this help line number from the Railway waiting room !
The Railway  Number to which you can SMS is   8121281212 .
Please pass on this message to your friends and it may help some one
in need including you .

WHAT ARE THE ISSUES THAT WILL REALLY MATTER WHEN WE NEAR THE END OF LIFE?

THIS IS SHARED FROM TIMES OF INDIA 5 FEB 2012
 You only live twice!

WHAT ARE THE ISSUES THAT WILL REALLY MATTER WHEN WE NEAR THE END OF LIFE?

TIMES NEWS NETWORK

THE untimely death of a colleague, someone with whom you interacted, exchanged pleasantries and indulged in healthy competition, is bound to leave you regretful and reflective about the uncertainty of life. And when the one who passes on had known the end was near, you wonder what went through the person’s mind in the days and weeks before the end.
Those who have reported neardeath experiences have talked of experiencing a vivid rendering of their entire lives played out like a movie, the light they see at the end of the tunnel, and of love and acceptance. While doctors have dismissed these as delusions, what science has failed to dismiss is identical surges seen in brain activity of terminally-ill patients moments before their death, which seems to provide evidence of the near-death experiences.
However, even if we were to allow the scientists their scepticism, it does seem plausible that when life nears an end, we would most likely take stock of the way we lived and the impact we made, if any. Did we make the most of the gift of life that was given to us? Did we achieve whatever we came here to achieve? Do we have any major regrets? Are we leaving behind unfinished tasks? And yes — did we make a difference?
Think of the panicky feel as a holiday nears an end. Did we make the most of the days? You try to pack in as much as you can in the last few hours and promise yourself better organisation next time! Only now, as life is ending, there is no next chance — at least none that you can be assured of.
One of the most m e a n i n g f u l thoughts on this issue I have come across is that of leading world motivational trainer, Brendon Burchard’s: “At the end of our lives, we all ask, ‘Did I live? Did I love? Did I matter?’” In his book, The Millionaire Messenger, Burchard goes on to say, “At the end of your life you will want to know if you really lived your life fully - your life, too, not the hopes and dreams of your parents or teachers or peers or spouse…”
Christopher Hitchens, English-American journalist who died of cancer in December 2011, wrote in Vanity Fair, “It does concentrate the mind, of course, to realise that your life is more rationed than you thought it was…one thing that grave illness does is to make you examine familiar principles and seemingly reliable sayings…”
Let us reflect on the things that one would want to be assured of before hitting the bucket. Surely you would like to know that you drank deep of life’s nectar and lived a full life with all your senses alive to the beauty and possibilities offered! That you dreamt big, fought for your dreams and achieved the potential you were endowed with. This would answer the first question Burchard poses — Did you live?
Love, they say, is what makes the world go round. We enter life to learn all about love; love is not just a balm for the soul but also helps us onwards in our spiritual journey. So what lessons in loving did you learn? Did you love deeply enough, and were you loved back intensely? Did you, at least once in your life, experience an intense love, that blocks out all reason? Consider this — nobody who is dying has ever regretted giving lesser time to work, though many have regretted giving lesser time to love and family! Were you able to give love and loved ones your all — be it a parent, sibling, spouse, lover or child? So, did you love? And lastly, nobody wants to feel insignificant. We all have our own place and importance in the Universe. So never doubt that your existence serves a certain purpose and you are important in your own way. Did you take your role seriously enough and try and make a dent in the universe, as Steve Jobs put it? Did you take risks and follow your heart when it dictated things that reason raised eyebrows at? Did you touch lives and make a difference? In effect — Did you matter?
As Ian Fleming put it, “You only live twice. Once when you are born and once when you look death in the face.” We do not know whether we prepared for our birth. But surely we can start preparing ourselves with answers for life’s posers as death stares us in the face.

JOKE MAN NEVR LEARN AND WOMEN NEVER CHANGE

HAVE TO READ - A woman and a man are involved in a car accident.

It's a bad one, caused by the woman's reckless driving.
Both of their cars are demolished but amazingly neither of them are hurt.

After they crawl out of their cars, the woman says;
“So, you're a man. That's interesting. I'm a woman.
Wow, just look at our cars! There's nothing left, but fortunately we are unhurt.

This must be a sign from God that we should meet and be friends and live together in peace for the rest of our days."

The man replied," I agree with you completely. This must be a sign from God!

The woman continued,
"And look at this, here's another miracle.
My car is completely demolished, but this bottle of wine didn't break.

Surely God wants us to drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune."

Then she hands the bottle to the man.

The man nods his head in agreement, opens it, drinks half the bottle and then hands it back to the woman.

The woman takes the bottle, immediately puts the cap back on, and hands it back to the man.

The man asks, "Aren't you having any?"

She replies, "Nah. I think I'll just wait for the police to come and collect their evidence."

Adam ate the apple again !=D

Men will NEVER learn !

Women will NEVER change!!!:D

1ST REUNION OF 71 BATCH AT IT BHU 2012

READ WHAT YOU WILL MISS IF YOU ARE ABSENT AT 1 ST REUNION

Nearly 40 years has elapsed since we graduated, yet we all cherish and would continue to cherish every moment of unforgettable and glorious time of our lives spent in IT BHU for four / five years (five years who got admission in 1 st year, four years for who got admission in 2 nd year) from 1966/1967 to 1971.
We students had shared our moments of joy, happiness and sorrows, in workshops, labs, class rooms and hostels while shaping our  future in one of world’s most renowned educational institutions , founded by great Mahamana  Madan Mohan Malviya . we remain indebted to our institute, the faculty and the supporting staff who had turned us all from a raw youth to engineers. We remain committed to fulfilment of dreams of  Mahamana by serving the institute , India and helping the world professionals and humanity as world class citizens.

BIRTH OF 71 BATCH:
Born in the month of Jully of 1966/ 1967 at the than of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO), College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET) and College of Technology (TECHNO)
which is now Institute of Technology , BHU , the batch was exceptional and unique in many ways since its inception.
The years of inception of the batch were eventful years in the history of present IT.
Firstly in 1968 – 1969 session  The institute in its present form came into existence after  the integration of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO), College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET) and College of Technology (TECHNO)  form present Institute of Technology

Secondly semester system was introduced in session 1968 – 1969

Banaras Engineering College (BENCO) was established in year 1919
College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET) was established in year 1944
College of Technology (TECHNO) was established in year 1939

Admission was on All India basis , there like an African jungle , it had new strange animals , hostel wardens like ring masters , had hard time identifying and selecting two of them of the same specie – geographically and linguistically  that can be put in the same cage as room partners ! But hardly could wardens do anything more with the boys from different states more in number than listed in Indian National Anthem from all the 22 Indian states appeared on the scene.

When interaction began – some combination found each other strange. Most notably odd situation was when a boy from non Hindi speaking state and Hindi speaking state interacted .One armed with nearly zero knowledge of Hindi and the other with poor English ,With just little conversation they soon got convinced that they can’t understand each other and hardly they tried harder grew the problem. But with time all mixed well and could interact with each other without any problem.

Five year/ four  period indeed was very long and the Institute had its wonderful system that increased the probability of great mix up and interaction amongst the batch mates .Random allocation of hostels , room partners , in first 2 years / one year common course for all branches ( I know for civil ,mechanical , electrical electronics only)the same subjects , workshops , practicals , drawings .
SEEDS OF REUNION
In 1971 after our final examination we all went our way , as of today we did not have Alumni association , nor internet , phone were not so common , no mobile , only means was through letters ,so most of us lost contact with each other with passage of time except few who remained in touch or came in touch with each other. But now due to mobile internet we are in a position to be in touch with 115 + batch mates within a short time of past 3 months or so . Still searching other  guys.

To relive those memories of sharing and caring once again , Batch of 1971 of IT BHU is going to have its first  reunion in IT BHU,  Varanasi  during 16th to 18th March (Friday to Sunday) 2012.

The seeds of reunion was sown almost 3 months back when myself and Mr RR  Aiyer were chatting  on face book . Mr RR  Aiyer stared mailing to batch mates , soon response started coming initially we were handful of few batch mates. One after the other from words of mouth, through spread of emails the resolve for reunion became more strong resulting   115 + of batch mates got in contact with each other, out of which 60  will be attending  reunion as on today.

Planning stared, dates proposed, changed and finally frozen now.
We now needed persons who could actually take up the tough and hectic responsility to get the things done at ground zero i.e. at Varanasi and IT . Some of our batch mates have come forward them self to take the responsibility .
 FORMATION OF CORE GROUP
As lot of lot of problems stared surfacing it was decided in second week of JAN 2012 to form a core group based at Delhi to coordinate , plan was formed , include suggestions and make all arrangements required for the event .Core group members are Mr  R R Aiyer, OPAzad, Mr PK Pant, Mr Ravindra Rastogi, MrRavi Prakash Mehrotra, Mr P D Didwania ( all these 5 based at Delhi) Mr Anil Kumar Agrawal , based at Varasansi.
Mr ARUN KUMAR SHRIVASTAVA came forward to make a ppt presentation  as we look today

Initially it was planed we will get rooms in IT Guest house and about 40 to 50 would stay there, but due to unavailability of rooms in It Guest house , it is now stay is shifted to hotel out side the campus.
I am thankful to all core members and other class mates who have came forward to share responsibility, for taking time out of their been  busy life , for   making  arrangements so that the event takes place smoothly  and to remember during our life time.
Due to their efforts reunion will be a great successes.

I am also Thankful to all of you who made and are making efforts to get in touch with maximum number of batch mates and whose efforts and presence is required during the event to make it a grand successes

Event will bring us and our families closer.

THEREFORE YOU SHOULD BE PRESENT  AT 1ST REUNION AT IT BHU DURING 16TH TO 18TH MARCH

DATE 1 FEB 2012                                         OP AZAD (CIVIL 71)
